Steve Shephard is originally from Springfield, Illinois and has been working in the Chicagoland area for the past five years. His is a highly skilled Information Technology (IT) professional who possesses over 10 years of experience in the computing industry. His career began as a Network Technician, at Sentinel Technologies, in which his services were contracted out to five different government agencies. Steve was then promoted to a Technical Specialist with GTECH; a world renowned gaming technology and service company. In this position, he tested back-up sites for Disaster Recovery (DR) and directed a team of Field Technicians to go onsite when communications were down. Steve then advanced to be a Senior Technical Project Leader, at First Bank, where he managed 32 IT projects in over 56 of First Bank’s branches nationwide. For the many bank acquisitions and conversions, Steve was responsible for branch Site Readiness Assessment and then provisioning data/voice circuit turn-ups and phone system implementations.
In May of 2007, Steve joined the Equilibrium team as a Systems Engineer. Based on his technical proficiency and performance, he was quickly promoted to Senior Systems Engineer/Technical Project Manager. Most recently in April 2009, Steve was promoted to be Equilibrium’s IT Services Program (ITSP) Manager. As the ITSP Manger, Steve contributes significantly to the overall development of Equilibrium’s Best Practice Administration (BPA) service offerings for Systems, Networks, Desktops, Applications, and Security. His unrelenting work ethic and technical skills translate directly into the Equilibrium ITSP team’s ability to provide very responsive, very reliable and high quality IT services to our clients.
Steve stays on the cutting edge of modern technologies. He is one of Equilibrium’s most experienced Senior Systems Engineers, who implements new technology based on the IT Business Plans that Equilibrium co-develops with our clients to align business strategy with technology requirements. Time and time again, these project implementations for Equilibrium’s clients result in streamlined workflow processes that leverage technology and allow more efficiency and increased staff productivity.
During his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and his dog Surge. Steve currently resides in downtown Chicago on the Lake Michigan shore. In the summer time, he enjoys relaxing on the beach, golfing, and riding his bike along Lake Shore Drive.
