Situation: Auto Insurance Center is one of Chicago’s premier auto insurance agencies (also affiliated with www.insureonthespot.com, www.unitedautoinsurance.com, and www.americanautoinsurance.com). The staff at each of these insurance agencies provide world class customer service to their clients. They rely heavily on the IT environment to effectively accomplish their day-to-day operations efficiently and to further improve Costumer Service. The agency turned to Equilibrium IT Solutions, Inc. to better manage and help advance their overall computing environment.
Strategic Approach:
Auto Insurance Center engaged Equilibrium IT Solutions, Inc. to develop a comprehensive IT Business Plan that advises the agencies’ management of information technology’s status and strategy.
The IT Business Plan included an overview of the current state IT environment and a summary of Equilibrium's observations and recommendations for opportunities for improvement. The goal for this plan was to help management understand the overall technical health of the company's IT environment, minimize risks that could impact the business, reduce costs by understanding budgetary product and labor costs associated with possible future IT investments.
Results: Some of the key elements of the future state computing environment included a Customer Service Portal to provide clients with the ability use online services such as insurance quoting, bill payment, and obtaining account information. Equilibrium also conducted a formal comprehensive site-to-site Disaster Recovery strategy with a Technology Refresh that proactively replaced the aging mission critical servers which eliminated costly business operations downtime.
